Cupcakehenge by LunarMaddness Cupcakehenge by LunarMaddness
Acrylic on panel 21x35 2011

One of my more recent paintings. I have been doing a lot of landscapes with giant cupcakes in them. I have been building panels to paint on and playing around with ideas of having pieces missing or one image on multiple panels. With this piece i am playing around with the idea that a part of the painting was removed and that its possible to interact with the painting.

This has a compainion piece [link]

lol thanks

I had been wanting to do some surrealistic landscapes and i thought that adding in giant cupcakes would be a nice contrast. They are whimsical and the colors are ones you dont find in nature so that makes it more fun for me to paint.
